WARRINGAH DISABILITY NEWSLETTER No 221 - 22/01/10

Hello!

Welcome to the first newsletter of 2010. It starts with modified football, St Patrick disco, dance masterclass, SOCS for adults with Aspergers, relationship workshops, assessment for school leavers, information on Hear for You. Activities for carers include respite vacancies, the annual RIAP intake process from January to March, cooking and retreat for male carers, events organised by ARAFMI and Bradfield Park Wellbeing Carer Centre and NSCCAHS Carer Support, pampering day, sessions for parents, counselling support group, adult sibling group. Financial items include drive service for carers, accessible villa, free photocopier, Lane Cove Council grants, NGO grant funding, ParaQuad NSW scholarships, Recovery sales positions.

Your participation is welcomed regarding research in social functioning and spontaneous sex, need for a volunteer to drive someone, need for a venue, re-inclusion of athletes with an intellectual disability in IPC. Resources include booking of Health care Interpreters, manager position at Recreation Rendezvous, free BreastScreening.

Training involves TAFE, mood disorders, first aid, Makaton, employment and disability, couple seminar, criminal justice, presentation skills, functional assessment and behavioural intervention. Conferences and meetings focus on NDS state conference and regional meetings, print disability, regional disability network, carer coalition, accessible arts, supporting deaf people, generative fathering, Down Syndrome.
